“The life of man, my child, is sorrow, because he is in exile. Do not seek perfect rest. Christ has lifted up the cross for us, and we will lift it up with Him. If we endure all sorrows, we find grace from the Lord. That is why the Lord allows us to be tempted, so that He may test the zeal and love we have for Him. That is why patience is needed. Without patience, man does not become practical, does not learn spiritual things, does not reach the standards of virtue and perfection.
